Gayla Wiggins is an experienced educational consultant who works with school districts and education service centers in the areas of curriculum development, instruction, and English language arts and reading. She has served as a regional consultant, statewide curriculum coordinator, district curriculum director, special education director, principal, dyslexia coordinator, reading specialist, special education teacher, and general education classroom teacher. Gayla is widely recognized for her dedication to the development and implementation of quality, aligned curriculum; meaningful assessment; and authentic, relevant, and responsive instruction.

Prior to joining lead4ward, Gayla served as English Language Arts and Reading State Coordinator for the Texas Education Service Center Curriculum Collaborative (TESCCC) where she led the development of a statewide curriculum and instruction project. Gayla also worked with TESCCC and she served as a consultant at Education Service Center Region 2, where she implemented innovative professional development in the areas of reading and writing workshops, formative and summative assessments, and best instructional practices in English Language Arts and Reading. She also served as an advisor in the Alternative Teacher Certification Program, provided curriculum development and implementation support to regional school districts, and developed English Language Arts and Reading curriculum for a statewide curriculum project. As Director of Curriculum, she implemented intervention systems and professional development programs that insured all students a comprehensive and quality education. She implemented processes and support for inclusion and co-teaching during her tenure as a Director of Special Education.
