Our Plan for WCAG 2.1 AA Compliance | April 2026 – December 2028

Our Commitment

lead4ward is committed to making our platforms, tools, and materials accessible to all users. We are actively pursuing conformance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA, the technical standard established under the DOJ’s April 2024 final rule, across our website, digital products, documents, and video content.

We recognize that our district partners have compliance obligations under ADA Title II, and we take seriously our responsibility to support those obligations. This document describes our remediation plan, our timeline, and what districts can expect from us at each stage.

Where We Are Today

We are in the active discovery and assessment phase of a structured three-year remediation program. We have begun a full inventory of our digital assets, engaged a third-party accessibility auditor, and are remediating the highest-priority issues first, beginning with content used in active district contracts.

What Districts Can Expect Each Year

  • 2026: Assessment and Priority Remediation. We will complete a formal third-party audit of our web platform, remediate critical and high-severity accessibility issues, publish an initial Accessibility Conformance Report (VPAT), and establish accessible templates and workflows for all new content produced going forward.
  • 2027: Full Remediation and Verified Conformance. We will complete remediation of our web platform, lead4ward app, and document library. We will publish and maintain a VPAT reflecting current conformance status and establish continuous automated monitoring to prevent regressions.
  • 2028: Sustained Compliance. We will commission a second independent third-party audit, conduct a second round of user testing, complete our video caption library, and embed accessibility requirements into our design and development process so that all new features and content are built to WCAG 2.1 AA standards from the start.
