review conference: the final frontier
for teachers and leaders of tested grades
Whether we have STAAR or are responsible for collecting local data to show evidence of learning, we know that the need to have engaging review doesn’t change. But, one thing we have learned from 2020 is that everything else can! This year we are going where no one has gone before! Our Review 2021 Conference will explore new ways to assess where students are, plan for how to address gaps from the fall, prepare them for end-of-year assessments, and help you plan your next steps. We’ll explore strategies and tools to make review meaningful, empower students to take ownership of their own learning, and use lead4ward resources for effective review.
The 2021 Review Conference will be offered virtually and gives a campus team an opportunity to learn together. We recommend that a team consist of at least one teacher from each content area, a special educator, and a campus leader. Participants choose a 3-hour morning or afternoon session for their content area: leader, math, reading, writing, science, social studies, or special education. Participants will remain in their selected content area throughout the conference session.
Conference participants will earn 6 CPE hours by:
- Participating in the live virtual conference session (3 hours)
- Participating in or viewing the recording of the lead4ward review conference keynote (1 hour)
- Using the spiral review guide to independently plan instruction and implementation (1 hour, post-conference)
- Participating in a statewide jam session (1 hour, post-conference)
