Julio Ortiz has been meeting the needs of educators, parents, and students in special education for three decades. With interpersonal skills that complement his professional expertise, Julio offers practical knowledge that empowers people for success – in classrooms, at home, and in the real world.

Before joining lead4ward, Julio served as a Special Education Coordinator, Instructional Specialist, and K-12 Special Education Teacher. He has worked with educators, district and campus leadership teams, and parents in regular education classrooms, self-contained classrooms, and resource inclusion settings. He has provided training for educators statewide in classroom management, behavior intervention skills, instructional delivery, and de-escalation and intervention of challenging students. He has also empowered parents with strategic training on improving parenting skills. Additionally, Julio collaborated on developing and delivering mindset training to improve Tier 1 instruction and outcomes for all learners in all settings.
