The past few years have been challenging in the world of assessment and accountability – to put it mildly.

• ASE scoring in 2024 
• 2023 Accountability Refresh
• 2023 Accountability litigation
• 2024 Accountability litigation 

Currently, the 89th Legislature is in session, and one or more bills affecting assessment and/or accountability will likely be passed before sine die on June 2, 2025.

So, what can we do?  

We can continue to work together to better understand the requirements and implications of new rules, laws, and developments in the world of assessment and accountability so that we can continue to focus on our purpose as educational leaders: student learning.  

Please join us for this 1-day symposium designed for district and campus leaders who want up-to-the-minute information about assessment and accountability as we prepare for the 2025-26 school year.  

We’ll explore and discuss:  

• the various measures included in the accountability system with a focus on helping instructional leaders build their understanding of the accountability system so they can more effectively lead and support strong instructional practices in the classroom  

• where we are in the process of finalizing the accountability system for 2025, 2026, and 2027 – as well as TEA’s early plans for the 2028 Accountability refresh  

• how district and campus leaders can continue to lead with confidence and direction to support student learning  

In short, we’ll focus on where we are; where we’re going; and what we can do to support our teachers, our staff, and our students.
