Allow students to share questions with a partner or use simple stems such as “What does ___ mean?” or “How do I use ___?” Provide visuals or examples to support understanding before writing.

Use a T-chart to help students sort ideas they know versus concepts they need help with. Encourage partner discussion before students record their responses on sticky notes or organizers.

Ask students to explain why they need help with a concept using frames such as “I am struggling with ___ because ___.” or “One way I can practice this skill is ___.”

Encourage students to collaborate with peers who have similar learning gaps. Ask them to develop strategies or plans that could help their group improve understanding of the concept.

Challenge students to analyze their learning needs, propose solutions for improvement, and explain how specific strategies or resources will help them master the concept using precise academic language.
