STAAR Schoolhouse: Leading the Content Areas
This workshop focuses on what district and campus instructional leaders need to know to effectively lead the transition to STAAR in each of the content areas. Structured as a typical school day (with each period devoted to a different subject area), this workshop is designed to provide school leaders with the most up-to-date information about STAAR.

STAAR Schoolhouse – Teaching in the Content Areas builds upon the foundation received in the Ready, Set STAARt workshops. Full day workshops are available for both Elementary K-5 teachers and Secondary 6-12 teachers in ELAR and Math; Science and Social Studies are all level workshops.

STAAR for Students with Special Learning Needs
STAAR is a rigorous and challenging assessment system for all students – particularly for students with special learning needs. Throughout the 2011-2012 school year, TEA developed and released critical information regarding the various versions of STAAR (STAAR Modified, STAAR Alternate, STAAR L) as well as the nature and type of accommodations that can be provided to students during test administration. This workshop is designed to provide school leaders with an overview of the challenges relating to the administration of STAAR for students with special needs – with a focus on preparing for the 2012-2013 school year.
